☞ SHOP: Matthew Williamson for H&M
We usually steer away from H&M, but they have been making some effort with their designer collaborations. The past few (such as Karl Lagerfield and comme des garcons) have been a sea of black, so when we heard that British designer Matthew Williamson was on board this month, we were quite hopeful. Williamson is known for his contemporary take on color and exotic prints, often with ethnic, European inspirations. The women's line of colorful dresses have shipped in the past two weeks, and the men's collection will be coming out on May 14. If it's not at the Harlem H&M, then the 52nd Street and Fifth Avenue branch is a sure bet. 125 W 125th Street between Adam C. P. Boulevard (7th Avenue) and Malcolm X Boulevard (Lenox Avenue). Tel.(212) 665-8300. Take the 2,3 or A, C, B, D train to 125th Street.
