☞ WALK: The West 126th Street Park
The Allah School in Mecca used to be the only building on the block between West 126th Street and 127th Street on Adam P. (7th Avenue), but now a condo building has sprouted up on the far corner of 127th Street -- with a charming park in between. We talked to a gentleman who was overseeing the garden work and he explained that the lot was owned by the Allah School, which provides computer training for local youth, and it was their donation that will provide the garden for the community. With the grass being laid and a handsome fountain in place, things are looking pretty good at this once neglected corner of central Harlem. Take the A,B,C,D or 2,3 train go 125th Street to take a look.
