☞ SEE: Couple Dancing at the Savoy
Couple Dancing at the Savoy by Reginald Marsh is a great reflection on the heyday of the famous ballroom. Marsh was considered a Social Realist in his works and covered much of everyday scenes in the 1920's and 1930's, especially in neighborhoods such as Harlem and Coney Island. His paintings conveyed movement and are often quite smoky in their ambiance with that little bit of grit reflecting the times of the Great Depression. Click on image to enlarge.
