☞ REMEMBER: Astor Row circa 1930
Today's Astor Row on West 130th Street has the cool shade of trees covering either side of the street but in the above photo shot in the early 1930's, the trees were mere samplings or not even planted yet on the north side. Another interesting point is that the original colors of the porch were not solid but really cast in two shades of paint for a dramatic, graphic look. We had taken a photo of the only house on the block that still had the original paint scheme earlier in the summer and it unfortunately is one of the houses that need a lot of work to restore its original glory: LINK.
