☞ EAT: Chez Lucienne Can-Can for Fall
The What's Toulouse Festival starts this Friday, November 6th and last the full week at Chez Lucienne. To evoke the Parisian nightlife of the Moulin Rouge made famous by Henri de-Toulouse Lautrec, Chez Lucienne will thrum to can- can music and images for its fall. Not only is it a celebration of regional fall French cuisine such as cassoulet, a bean and pork specialty, there will also be a Moulin Rouge Cocktail served with all proceeds benefiting City Harvest (which helps feed those in need in New York City). So check out the $24.95 prix fix with a three course menu selection which includes Terrine de Foie gras, Fish Cassoulet and Duck Confit to name a few. The above painting by Henri de Toulouse Lautrec, titled "At the Moulin Rouge," was finished circa 1895 and shows patrons at the title establishment along with a couple of showgirls. Bravo to Chez Lucienne, they are constantly offering creative varied menus options that make it a vibrant enticing establishment, other restaurants could learn from this model. Some friends of mine on FDB suffer from Chez Lucienne envy, it is a great addition to the ever evolving Lenox Avenue.
ReplyDeleteThe other article this week was on the restaurant Creole that also used the arts to drum up business. Those who get creative in these difficult times will come out strong at the end. Of course, the food has to be great and the service impeccable. Chez Lucienne is stellar in these areas and so affordable for the caliber of atmosphere and cuisine. If we are lucky, maybe they can branch out on FDB one day and open up a sister bistro.
