The new residential building at 2182 Third Avenue and East 119th Street caught our eye a couple of months ago and it now turns out a retailer also noticed the new stand-out. A branch of Easy Shopping Department Stores will open at this location in a 9,300 square foot ground floor space with a target opening date of January 2010. We were checking out all the old architecture on this part of Third Avenue and thought that this one didn't look quite so bad for a newer building. On the other hand, it also didn't really fit into this more historically intact corner of East Harlem either. As ambitious as the building looks, the landlord had to cut a deal on the rent so now the third store of Easy Shopping will be landing in East Harlem.
