☞ WALK: Holiday Harlem Brownstones
The first week of December is the official start of the Christmas season and it's starting to feel that way for many brownstone owners. Like their suburban counterparts, brownstone buildings have the privilege of having a front yard so many creative types test their mettle with the upcoming season. The above photos were taken on the fringes of Hamilton Heights yesterday, complete with stars, silver garlands, wreath (which apparently is also Hanukkah appropriate), ornaments, snowman and even a miniature Santa. Above it all, as shown on the very top photo is a small Christmas digital countdown scoreboard that lets passerby know the exact amount of time left until the holiday arrives (just in case you forget).
