Just Wingin It on FDB/8th Avenue and 118th Street was selected for an extreme make-over show and we ran by it mid process last week: LINK. Construction Intervention, which will be on the Discovery Channel, whips faltering businesses into shape and redesigns and renovates the spaces.There's still some work being done as of this past weekend but what is apparent at Just Wingin It is that it has a definitively smart new logo that looks more iconic than the commercial chain franchise aesthetic the store had before. The little corner sign at the top of the store provides a signature beacon to the space while all the graphics have been cleaned up to look more streamline and modern. It's a retro industrial biker roadhouse look but done in a sleek modern way. There's a sneak peek of the interior at the last photo. hopefully, they'll have taught the owners a thing or two about how to run the business. just wingin' it's previous service was pitiful.
ReplyDeleteThe business failed for a reason: along with terrible service, nobody was interested in eating wings (even though they offered other choices). It is disappointing that Just Wingin' It will be back. Things will change when Best Yet opens with their prepared foods section and an eating area in the mezzanine offering us another choice.

ReplyDeleteI heard the hot wings are not that hot, but other than that... It's a good spot to have an alternative to the million plus pizzerias and fast food restaurants. It's all about options and Just Winging It has just that.
