☞ REMEMBER: 415 West 125th Street
The little angled corner lot on 125th Street, right before Convent Avenue, had a slightly different look to it in 1934 when the top photo was taken. The height of the building hasn't changed from the original wood frame house but the charm of the original is a little lacking in its current state as a firehouse that was built somewhere mid 20th century (second photo). The close up of the original image shows barrels of beer being unloaded from the Jacob Ruppert Brewery truck by a couple of men. The wood frame house itself was apparently the domain of an optometrist since there is a pair of hanging spectacles in front of the building. Click on images to enlarge.
