☞ WALK: Schomburg Center Windows
The Schomburg Center has a great window exhibition on African-American politicians that quite literally brightens up the block. Although we are a big fan of the artistic interior of the Schomburg Center for Black Research, the mid-century exterior can sometimes look a little bland and outdated. For this month's celebrations, the branch of the New York Public Library dressed up up the windows with a bit of cultural history and a touch of patriotic color which adds an accent to the street and serves as an exhibition in itself. The Schomburg Center is at 515 Malcom X/Lenox Avenue at 135th Street. The closest subway to this location is the 2,3 train to 135th Street. Photo by Ulysses. www.nypl.org
