☞ EAT: Strictly Roots Vegan Restaurant

Who knew that there was a vegan restaurant with a focus on Caribbean and West Indian cuisine? With the motto of "we serve nothing that crawls, swims, walk or flies," Strictly Roots is a vegetarian eatery which is a local haven for those who want fresh, organic and vegan options. Curried seitan, lima beans in coconut milk, pineapple bread are also paired with familiar favorites such as tofu burgers and vegan macaroni and cheese. On the decor front, its strictly a hole in the wall atmosphere with drop ceilings, and fluorescent lights but there are some tropical plants and exposed brick walls to liven things up. That said, the food is consistently good and the restaurant is a local favorite. Strictly Roots is located at 2058 ACP/7th Avenue, between 122nd and 123rd Street. Tel. (212) 864-8699. The nearest subway to the restaurant is the A,B,C,D or the 2,3 at 125th Street. Photo by Ulysses

  1. I walked past here yesterday but didn't pay it any attention. I'm eating Vegan until Easter so I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
