☞ REVIVE: One More New Building for FDB
The chic speakeasy lounge 67 Orange on FDB between 112th and 113th Street may lose its sense of urban grit now that the building project has started on the gaping, neighboring lot. All irony aside, we really hated seeing the abandoned parcel of land that seemed to have been a stalled project for the past couple of years. This "room for improvement" reminder on the ever changing south corridor of FDB has finally come to a close. Heavy machinery was at work this past Friday as we walked by and new signs touting affordable house have been placed up on the plywood fence. It's unclear if the government is taking over stalled development sites or if this was the plan all along but it seems that 2010 has been year for new affordable housing developments on once empty lots. The closest train to this location is the B,C at 116th Street. Photo by Ulysses
