☞ SEE: Wandering Park Coyote Photographed
There have been a couple of coyote sightings by Trinity Cemetery and Columbia University's campus right next to Harlem's Morningside Park and the canines seem to be migrating further south into Central Park. The Urban Hawks blog staked out in the park's southern regions and got a glimpse of this nomadic species. Officials think the animals are coming from the Bronx or Westchester and this is probably the furthest south that the coyotes have been seen in Manhattan. Folks are already calling this one J.D. after the late author and he has yet to be captured. Check out the Urban Hawks blog for more photos and a video of the JD: LINK. Photo courtesy of D. Bruce Yolton.
