☞ WALK: The Balton Moves Forward
A reader wanted to know what was going own with the planned affordable rental buildings that are going up on St. Nicholas between 127th and 128th Street. We mentioned back in November that the city just broke ground on the first building called The Balton and the infrastructure was well on its way. Going by the site yesterday, we noticed that all the steel pilasters at the ground floors are up and a huge crane was looming over the site. It usually picks up quickly at this point so we should really see the building start to rise in the next month or so. Therefore, the answer is that all is progressing nicely as planned. See our previous post to see the initial open lot at this site: LINK. Photos by Ulysses. www.thebalton.com or www.douglassparknyc.com
