☞ WALK: 557 West 156th Street Frame House
We found this old 1932 photo of a free standing frame house just outside of the northern borders of Harlem and had to walk the extra block to see if it was still around. It turns out that number 557 West 156th Street still sits on a lot wedged between two apartment buildings just east of Broadway. The church called Our Lady of Esperanza now uses the century old building as a convent house but otherwise, it looks pretty much the same today as it did 80 years ago.
