☞ WALK: Aloft Races to Finish by July 2010
UPDATE: The opening date has now been pushed back to July 2010. The W Hotel's Harlem cousin, the Aloft Hotel has been under construction for exactly one year now and we put together a pictorial of the various stages that have transpired over the past 12 months. The original opening date was sometimes in April 2010 so a lot of finishing has to happen very soon. The lower levels have been glassed since December but the top floors have been taking additional time to complete. As one Harlem Bespoke reader pointed out, the new Marcus Samuelsson restaurant called the Red Rooster could possibly have a place in this new luxury hotel seeing that it is close to 125th Street and the eatery would benefit from a built-in clientele. Chef Samuelsson also intimated that the restaurant would open in the fall which would make sense if the Aloft wraps up its main construction in the springtime. The closest subway to this location on FDB/8th Avenue and 124th Street is the A,B,C,D on 125th Street. All photos by Ulysses

ReplyDeleteAny idea what happened to the 44 apartments that were going to feature as part of it?
ReplyDeleteHotel more likely to open in January 2011.
ReplyDeleteThe condo portion will face a market with a very high level of new supply (2280 FDB, Livmor, Lore, Douglass, Kalihari, Fifth on the Park, Windows 123, plus several boutique condos of 10-20 units).
