☞ WALK: The West Harlem Piers in Bloom
After stopping at Fairway on 12th Avenue and 132nd Street yesterday, we just had to walk by the West Harlem Piers to see how the spring foliage was coming along. The riverside park is less than two years old and all of the trees and flora are freshly planted from the time of its debut in late 2008. What we noticed was true this time of year is that the Parks Department really makes an effort with the bulb plants since a vast array of daffodils can be seen while one enjoys the newly leafed trees and the Hudson River view. The weather was a bit brisk but folks were still out walking along this gem of park on the westside of Manhattanville (which used to be a parking lot for many years). The nearest subway to this location is the 1 train at 125th Street. Photo by Ulysses.
