☞ EAT: Marrakich Restaurant and Cafe
The ethnic dining options are not too diverse in Hamilton Heights, but uptowners can get some pretty decent Moroccan fare at Marrakich on Amsterdam, between 147th and 148th Street. For those looking for rich tangines, spicy merguez and savory couscous, this might be the budget-friendly ethnic eatery that you have been waiting for. The interior is more on the mom-and-pop side but for those who don't mind a bit of casual dining, it's worth the trip. Marrakich is at 1768 Amsterdam Avenue and can be reached by the 1 or the A,B,C,D trains at 145th Street. Tel.212-690-7020. Photo by Ulysses

Just walked by there today. It seems like it took the old "Queen Sheeba" spot. (They are now on Edgecomb and 141st I believe. It smelled great and folks seemed very friendly. We'll eat there soon!
ReplyDeleteDo they deliver? Or is there takeout?
ReplyDeletethis really is good. the falafel is delicious and the chicken and couscous (especially if you get it in the tagine) are better than most. I am most pleased it is in the neighborhood!
