☞ REMEMBER: The Harlem Casino Memorabilia
A reader found a set of original forks marked "Harlem Casino" while organizing the affairs of a relative and contacted us for more information about their provenance. As some might remember, our original post on the famous ballroom (at the corner of 124th Street and ACP/7th Avenue) back in April provided some past and current photos of the building. The forks were sent to us last week, and we were delighted to see that they do appear to be from the early 1900's (lower photos). The top photo shows the Harlem Casino building circa 1927 when it was in operation as the Loew's 7th Avenue Theater (click to enlarge). Read more about the Harlem Casino in our original post: LINK. Thanks once more to Ina for the kind donation. Photo via NYPL
