☞ REMEMBER: Sunday in Harlem circa 1947
Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Modern Century, at MoMA until June 28th. The late, great photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson has a show currently at the Museum of Modern Art, an exhibition that includes a snapshot of Harlem circa 1947. The above photo is part of a pair of Easter in Harlem images taken by one of the famous fathers of modern photography. Who can guess the notable building in the background? The hint is that it is on 125th Street (click on image to enlarge).

ReplyDeleteHotel Theresa?
i thinking the same. Hotel Theresa
ReplyDeleteYes, it's the Hotel Theresa! It's nice to see all the scaffolding being removed but the restoration left out the Juliette balconies that are depicted in this photo.
