In the past year, the organization contributed over $25K to the Parks Department for gardening supplies and maintenance equipment including the first two solar powered compacting trash receptacles in Harlem. Other planning and advocacy by the Friends of Morningside Park led to the realization of the new playground at 116th Street, the seasonal Saturday farmers market at 110th Street and upgrading of the new historic lamp post around Morningside Park.
The reception event will be joined by Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe and will be honoring Assembly Member O'Donnell. The event will be held in Cathedral House on the grounds of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Tickets prices are $75 for single tickets or $125 per pair - much less than you'd pay at many similar events and you'll be supporting your local park! Both tickets to the Morningside Park fundraiser, or making a donation, can be bought through the Friends of Morningside Park web site: LINK

Thanks for posting this. Please go or donate, especially if you live near. Having witnessed the wretched condition of this park in the past decades, it is now a gem and we can't let it suffer again.
