☞ SHOP: Wild Olive Market Set to Open this Week
The new Wild Olive Market storefront, just around the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue at 125th Street, has had everyone waiting since December for its opening day. Based on a reported conversion with one of our readers and store personnel, it seems that day will be sometimes this week. We walked by this morning and saw that truckloads of produce were being emptied and loaded into the ground level, while the interior looked like it just need to be stocked with food items. The rough grand opening is rumored to be this Thursday so we will make sure to swing by to check it out. The closest subway to this location is the 2,3 or the 4,5,6 at 125th Street. Photo by Ulysses

I was in there recently and was also told opening this week, it looks really nice inside and is a much needed addition to 125th street, great news.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! A much needed addition on this side of 125th.
ReplyDeleteReally encouraging. A few decent options now for groceries in the neighborhood. Best Yet on 118th & 8th, Harlem's Meat on 124th & St. Nicholas (had a great piece of prime rib from there over the w/e btw) and now Wild Olive Market.
ReplyDeleteAll we need now is Whole Foods to open on 125th & Lenox :)
and a Trader Joe's ....please!
ReplyDeleteit's being opened by the wonderful guy who owns Mani Market on ~94th/Columbus. Great quality, wonderful service, a terrific, truly local business. For my money, far, far better option than another chain, even a decent chains like Whole Foods or Trader Joes (that one has always puzzled me).
ReplyDeleteWhat great news for the neighborhood to have another option for groceries. So convenient to swing by for commuters coming home from work on the 2/3 or 4/5.
ReplyDeleteWild Olive will certainly get my business, remember, use it or lose it.
ReplyDeleteWell said westsider. I feel the same about Harlem's Meat. Please use it! I do feel like any new business owner opening in Harlem right now (possibly anywhere in NYC) is putting his/her neck on the line and they need our full support up in Harlem.
ReplyDeletethe brothers who run Mani will do a great job. We lived across the street from Mani's for years. They provide great customer service: you tell them what you want and they get it for the store a week later.
ReplyDeleteThere goes the neighborhood -- for the better! I'll be there
ReplyDeleteI've just heard it finally have opened today!!
