☞ INTRODUCING: First Harlem Pride Weekend
Congratulations to the Harlem Pride organization for setting up Harlem's first Pride weekend. For those who are not in the know, it's the gay pride weekend for New York City and readers who want to see what the community is about uptown should check out this weekend's events. First, there will be a kick off party at Billie's Black 271 West 119th Street (at St. Nicholas), followed by weekend gallery events at Casa Frela at 47 West 119th Street (between Lenox and 5th) and finally a big Harlem Lanes bowling event at 2116 ACP/7th Avenue (at 126th Street) on Sunday. On a side note, Suite (the only gay bar below 155th Street) is on the cusp of Morningside Heights at 992 Amsterdam Avenue at 108th Street. Check out the full list of events (some with cover) at HarlemPride.org: LINK. Top photo courtesy of Casa Frela gallery and all else by Ulysses
