Sunday's Hamilton Heights 21st Annual Historic House tour was a very pleasant surprise since last year's event did not pan out. The area had a diversity of families, professions and backgrounds showcasing their amazing homes. Many of the townhouses were owned by architects and creative type so the attention to detail was pretty stunning. Overall, we thought that the interiors looked even more intact than other areas of harlem and the restorations were amazingly period appropriate. The house tour participants followed a map that had been passed out at the beginning of the event and each of the eight townhouses had balloons marking their location. The owners were all present and personally gave the tour of their homes.
