☞ DWELL: 183 Lenox Avenue Brownstone
The landmark storefront brownstone (with paper-blocked windows) located just one building north of Lenox and 119th Street has just been put on the market for sale this week. Number 183 Lenox Avenue is a 19 x 69 wide, 4,136 square foot townhouse with two commercial spaces and a couple of floor through apartments at top and is considered an SRO. There's no mention of a certificate of non harassment so the asking price of $899K probably reflects that fact along with the amount of work needed to renovate the townhouse. This building is directly on Lenox Avenue's main boutique strip in the Mount Morris Park Historic District. One probably needs a good real estate lawyer to figure out all the paperwork for this one. The closest train is the 2,3 at 125th or 116th Street. Photo by Ulysses
