☞ EAT: Sisters Caribbean Cuisine
For folks who are heading out to the Mount Morris Park Historic District Farmers' Market this Saturday, drop by Sisters Caribbean Cuisine at 47 East 124th Street (close to the corner of Madison). Marcus Samuelsson mentioned in New York magazine this week that the mom-and-pop restaurant that has been around for a decade has some of the best goat curry in town. There's also salt cod, oxtail stew, jerk chicken and just plain masala curry chicken for those less adventuresome. Prices around $10-$12 for each main dish so it's pretty casual dining in a decently decorated interior. On a side note, with all the glowing reviews, the restaurant might not be around for much longer since the business has been advertised to sell: LINK. So Harlem, get it before it's gone! The closest subways are the 2,3 or the 4,5,6 trains at 125th Street.

ReplyDeleteDamn!
ReplyDeleteI used to work at North General Hospital and would get my lunch at Sisters when I worked the day shift. And when I worked nites I would have breakfast there on Sunday mornings.
Damn it to Hell! Another one bites the dust! Its sad really because places that you wish would stick around forever, don't It seems we are living in an age when nothing is forever anymore. Oh well!
