☞ READ: Harlem Eatery Opens West Village Shop
The one really great and affordable better burger joint in Harlem is expanding into the West Village. New York Magazine reports that East Harlem's Joy Burger Bar will be opening up their second shop at 361 Sixth Avenue (by Washington Place) in the near future. What we like about this place is the classic retro design, the three sizes of burgers ($3.50-$5.95) and a large selection of freshly prepared sauces. So who knew that East Harlem would be generating a trend in the West Village? Also, this business model would probably have done well in other parts of Harlem so let's hope they expand further uptown in the future. Read more on the New York Magazine blog: LINK. Joy Burger Bar is located at 1567 Lexington Avenue between 100th and 101st Street. Tel. (212) 289-6222. Nearest subway is the 6 train at 103rd Street. See our past post for interior photos: LINK.
