☞ REVIVE: 125th Elevated Train Station Progress

So the elevated 1 train at 125th Street started its big restoration project a month ago and after replacing some tracks on the south side, actual steel components of the viaduct are now being stripped of rust and primed. The top photo shows the rusted, peeling paint that is on the entire system that spans 10 blocks at this section of West Harlem. The contractors have been cover up sections at a time to remove the rust (middle) and then the area is primed with a terracotta color (last). These are the more simple sections but the big event will be priming the landmark steel arch that straddles 125th Street: LINK. What color will the final viaduct be is the next big question on peoples mind. All photos by Ulysses
