☞ SEE: The Jazz Age Lawn Party July 2010

The 5th Annual Governors Island Jazz Age Lawn Party was just like being in a 1920's movie set (it only took 20 minutes to get to the ferry if you catch the 2,3 train). We dropped by on Sunday to check out the big band, the flappers, porkpie hats, retro-bathing suits, antique cars and festivities at this one of a kind New York event. It would be great to have one of these lawn parties up in Harlem since the jazz history is all there. Anyways, check out our facebook site later in the day to see more photos and if you wished you could have made it to this one, there's another Governors Island event scheduled in August: LINK.

  2. It was a great time -- my favorite era of music played the way it was meant to be played! Can't wait for next month.

  3. Ulysses, that is great idea. Who wants to spearhead a 1920's jazz club festival in Harlem? It's a great idea, and we go on and on here about the community and how lovely Harlem is. Why don't we organize a social event that highlights Harland history and draws attention to the hood in a positive light!
