☞ SEE: P-Star Rising at Maysles Cinema


Friday, July 2nd, 7:30 PM at the Maysles Cinema. P-STAR RISING is a film about a single-father who is determined that his 9-year old daughter become a rap star and thus redeem his deferred dream. We follow the father-daughter duo through the grit and glamour of the music industry, the struggles of being a single dad with no means, and the sacrifices a child makes in order to make her daddy proud.

JUST IN: After tonight's presentation, there will be a special appearance by the director, P-Star's father and the entertainer herself will try to make it at the end.

I saw this movie a while back, very interesting, and tells the story of a single dad with no means, but for all the talk of poverty the father daughter appear in every scene in different color coordinated designer clothing. I wonder if they spent less on designer clothing they may be able to pay the rent they are struggling with.

    P-Star has a previous obligation, but is going to try to make it.
