☞ WALK: Is the Cotton Club Closing?
We walked by the third incarnation of the Cotton Club a couple of weekends ago to see if it was closing anytime soon. A reader mentioned that they were told that the business will shutter its doors soon and wanted to know if we heard any news. The usual tourist weekend brunch events were still going on this month so it seems to be business as usual. Does anyone know what's going to happen to the space at West 125th Street and Riverside Drive? Read all things Cotton Club in our past posts: LINK. Photo by Ulysses

I'm surprised it's still open. Who goes there?
ReplyDeleteIts a glorified tourist trap and local groups who need event space for cheap rent it out. The inside is not very impressive at all.
ReplyDeleteSo perhaps people who've been there in the past have decided not to return due to their past history with the place
How unfortunate that it met poor poor management. Any time I pass by, I can only think of how shameful it is that the place isn't being used to it's fullest potential...a dining, and live entertainment spot that could actually live up to its iconic name. It takes just a bit more than just changing the old iconic sign, fellas.
ReplyDeleteAw, such a shame... have such fond memories of my wedding reception there in 1992.
