☞ BESPOKE: Central Park Plein Air Painters

The Conservatory Garden on the East Harlem side of Central Park (at 106th) was the site for a group of local Plein Air painters who have been meeting once a month to paint the natural wonders of the park. A reader mentioned that the artists were setting up this past weekend and a local news station would also be on hand to feature them. The Conservatory Garden is the only formal garden in the park and was named after the large greenhouses that used to be situated on the site: LINK. Although namesake structures are gone, the vast open air gardens change seasonally and make it a perfect location for this group of painters who are in a club that now has 75 members: LINK.

  1. Obvious from your gorgeous photo's that this is a really wonderful place to paint. Isn't it great to have artists from other areas setting up their easels here in Harlem. Hope they continue venturing North.
