☞ EAT: East Harlem's Tre Otto

The New York Times had an interesting piece on the Italian restaurant Tre Otto which is in the confusing intersection of the upper East 90's that people assume is part of Carnegie Hill. We have been following the East Harlem border issue this year and above 96th is definitely East Harlem (just wiki search East Harlem or Carnegie Hill): LINK.

Back to the article, the restaurant which apparently opened at the beginning of the year, has been doing brisk business with the medical profession since Mt. Sinai Hospital is firmly established (and expanding) the next block up. The pasta dishes are under $20 dollars and the feature talks about what the doctors do and what they like about the restaurant. There's an outdoor patio for those that are interested and the restaurant itself is quite charming. Read more about the eatery on Madison, between 97th and 98th Street, in the New York Times: LINK

  1. For what its worth, the Carnegie Hill Neighbors organization claims the area up to 98th between 5th and Park, but only to 96th from Park to 3rd. I live in the disputed area and don't feel a part of either neighborhood. 96th to 98th should have a name of its own (Borderland? The DMZ?) Just kidding. Nobody cares about the neighborhood designation except for real estate agents.
