☞ REVIVE: CB10 Votes on 123rd Street High Rise

UPDATE: WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE OFFICIAL VOTE WAS 24 YES, 3 NO, AND 6 ABSTENTIONS (WHICH TECHNICALLY COUNTED AS NO). A reader posted a link in this week's post on the outcome of the Community Board 10 meeting in which the 123rd street blocks association fought against the affordable housing high rise planned for the 123rd Street parking lot. The parking lot serves the old low rise projects on the 124th Street side (photo) which will also be torn down for another high rise building. Many residents of the brownstone block wanted something less dense built and the CB10 meeting was so heated that "a few people almost came to blows." The final vote from the community board was 24 to 3 in favor of endorsing the project. The next step will be to getting approval from City Planning and the City Council. Read more in DNAinfo: LINK

  1. The review and preliminary approval process highlights the old boys network in Harlem. Seems it's not just the wall streeters that cut back-room, self-serving deals.

I'm all for affordable housing. Heck, I would love to get a bite at this apple. However, I'm 100% against ADC and it's henchmen rigging the political system to further their interests. I feel sorry for all the families that ADC impacts.

  2. Well I think we can look forward to more of the same because there doesn't seem to be a he'll of a lot of new blood on the political scene.
