☞ SEE: Around Harlem This Weekend

The holiday weekend is here and there are not a lot of open houses going on but folks that are still in town should just go out and support all of Harlem's great businesses.

Saturdays are all about going to the local farmers markets and celebrity Chef Marcus Samuelsson has recently voiced his support for doing the same. So get some great, local and seasonal foods and support our regional growers. Make sure all you folks check out the Mount Morris Park Historic District Market at 124th and 5th Avenue, the Morningside Farmers Market (for local caught fish!) at 110th Street and Manhattan Avenue and the 145th Street Farmers Market at Jackie Robinson Park's south side.

Sunday, September 5th, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM, 110th Street Central Park North, between 5th and Lenox. Gospel group Sound of Deliverance will be performing for the last FREE summer event at the Harlem Meer: LINK

The last photo shows the menagerie of peacocks that roam the grounds of St. John the Divine. The world's largest Cathedral also has a charming garden area so both are worth making the trip to Amsterdam Avenue and 110th Street in Morningside Heights. Closest subways are the 1 or B,C at 110th Street. Photo courtesy St. John the Divine.
