UPDATE: ORGINAL NUMBERS WERE TOTAL PROPERTY SALES ON STREETEASY. THE POST NOW REFLECTS CONDOS. So after a tough 2009 and a slow 2010, what is the condo count in the city and did a lot of buildings fold as predicted by some? The top photo is that of the WA Condominiums that went into foreclosure this past summer but besides some affordable-housing-turned-market-rate rental building finance troubles, there hasn't been too much major news coming out of Harlem. A lot of smaller stalled sites can be found throughout the city but based on the ones that are on the market, we put together the following neighborhood count from the 5,457 Manhattan condos available on Streeteasy's main search page: LINK:
1. All Downtown (1,838)
2. All Midtown (1,365)
3. All Upper West Side (814)
3. All Upper West Side (814)
4. All Upper East Side (743)
5. All Upper Manhattan (666)
Last May, some advocates suggested to use the buildings that aren't selling as homeless housing but that really didn't happen this year either: LINK.
Somewhere out there is MINE !!!
