Then I Will be Free to Travel Home, Friday, October 15th, 7:00 PM at the Maysles Cinema, 343 Lenox & 127th Street. A documentary about the discovery of New York's colonial-era African burial ground and the historical contributions of those original Africans and their descendants to the survival and development of New York and the nation. The focus on the period from 1626 to the New York City draft riots of 1863 includes an in-depth look at the signifigance of northern slavery and the amazing progression of heroic Africans who rose from bondage to change the course of the country from its earliest colonial days: LINK

Recording star, Melba Moore will make a special appearance at the Underground on Saturday, October 16th at 7:00 PM,  955 West End Avenue at 107th Street. Tickets are still available at $25. Melba Moore made her debut in the original Broadway production of 'HAIR', won a Tony Award in 1970 for 'Purlie', and scored numerous R&B hits, topping the charts in the 70's and 80's: LINK
