☞ DWELL: 626 West 147th Street Townhouse

OPEN HOUSE: Sunday, October 17th, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM. The 16.5 foot wide, 3,196 square foot, 2-family townhouse  at 626 West 147th Street  (painted red, at center) is just west of Broadway in Hamilton Heights and has been on the market since summer.  At the asking price of $2 million, the move-in ready house is one of higher priced properties and the renovations do look as if a good amount of money was spent.  Original detail look in good condition and the bath is pretty over the top but contextual (is that a bidet?).  The only thing that looks a little off is the kitchen which is starting to look a little dated but everything seems new enough.  Location wise, the block is charming, close to Riverside Park and 2 blocks away from the 1 train at 145th Street and Broadway.  That said, the avenue of Broadway at this section is still up and coming and better eateries and shops are lacking.  One can find a more compact townhouse just across the street at half the price of this house (along with half the square footage), but very narrow at 13 foot wide,  in a single family layout: LINK
