South Harlem's new beer garden on the block will be having pre-marathon carbo loading specials this weekend and a free foaming beverage for those who finish on Sunday. There's a couple of new pasta plates (that are cream and olive oil based) set up for that last meal before the big day but the best part is that anyone who brings in a finishing metal on Sunday will receive a free beer. Sounds like a pretty cool nod to the NYC Marathon athletes. Are any other restaurants having marathon specials? Bier International is at 2099 FDB/8th Avenue (at 113th St.). Closest subways are the B,C at 110th and 116th Street.
