☞ DWELL: 230 West 136th Street Townhouse
OPEN HOUSE: Sunday, December 12th by appointment only: LINK. We have mentioned that one of our favorite undiscovered blocks in Central Harlem is on West 136th Street, between ACP/7th Avenue and FDB/8th Avenue so the house at 230 West 136th Street is one to watch for because of its highly renovated condition. Previously on the market for $3.2 million 3 years ago, it's now on the market for $1.85 million which might just be a tad more reasonable. The 16.6 foot wide, technically-a-2-family-being-sold-as-a-1-family, 3,300 square foot townhouse look move in ready and the taste level of the restoration is impeccable. This is one of the only home restorations in Harlem where it looks like William Morris wallpaper is being used in one of the rooms. Check out one of our earlier post on wallpaper design for the Harlem brownstone to see a historical reference of this lost design detail: LINK

I have William Morris repro wallpaper in my parlour. Room is small enough that I could afford it.
ReplyDeleteIt’s just SO hard choosing which one.
