☞ LISTEN: Sunday Nights at the Paris Blues
We received a note in our inbox that the Paris Blues bar debuted a Sunday evening live music gig at their location on 2021 ACP/7th Avenue. The indie band called The Goddess Lakshmi played their first show this past Sunday night at the old school Harlem bar on the corner of 121st Street that has been around for 41 years. This performance brought in newcomers along with regulars and the group's presence was well received by the bar owner. The band now has been invited back for a regular spot, Sundays at 7:00 PM through February 6th and then back again at the end of March. Check out more photos of the event on The Goddess Lakshmi's Facebook site: LINK. For more on the Paris Blues, take a look at last year's story in the Times: LINK. Central Harlem has nightly rotating shows at Shrine so it would be kind of cool if the old Paris Blues reinvented itself in a similar fashion further south.

ReplyDeleteIf there is live music there I might pass by.
Performers are invited to drop in too. Any genre. —TGL
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what became of the "Three-Eyed Shrimp?"
ReplyDeleteGreat spot this. Nice to sit outside during the summer hours.
ReplyDeleteI've been twice now to the Sunday shows and they are a rocking good time. Fun vibe in cozy neighborhood venue ... a good match.
