☞ REVIVE: 148 West 121st Street Revealed
The 5-story, SRO building at 148 West 121st Street was sold over a year ago for $750K and we noticed that the townhouse had scaffolding up front for most of 2010 (at top). In the past month or so, all the facade work seemed to have finished up on the brownstone located between Lenox and ACP/7th Avenue so we did some research on the DOB paperwork filed to see what's happening to the building. From current permits of the past year, it looks like the house is converting into a 1-2 family building so either the buyer is renovating it to live in and have a rental unit to subsidize the mortgage or a developer has come in to split the house into condos. It's really not the widest brownstone in the area so maybe the single family plus rental is the best layout?
