☞ DWELL: Checking Up on The Metropolis
When we checked on the new eco-friendly "green" building called the Metropolis last June, 7 units were in contract but we never found out if any of those said condos had sold or not: LINK. According to Streeteasy, 8 of the 13 units have now completely closed at 51 East 128th Street but mostly within the last couple of months of 2010: LINK. Based on the selling records, final prices are around the low $500 per square feet range so these units are basically attracting deal seekers with an eco mindset. The block just east of Madison is low-rise enough but the building faces the squat Choir Academy of Harlem and there's not a whole lot happening in the immediate residential area.
