Signs first went up at two vacant Morningside Heights shops on Broadway back in October and now it appears that Five Guys Burgers are ready to open their first uptown joint. We actually thought something might have gone wrong since the announcements seen at the top photo were only up for a couple of weeks and had then been removed permanently from the plywood fence. This past week saw some major action happen at the space on Broadway (just north of 110th) when the said plywood came down dramatically and workers were seen active within. Looking inside at this current phase, one can see that the signature red and white tiling has been put in place and the red enameled industrial lamps are all hung but still wrapped in plastic. It looks like they are definitely at the last leg so expect this one to open soon. See our past post for more on Five Guys:
