The new restaurant at the corner of 117th Street and FDB/8th Avenue speculated that they would be open February 1st and it looks like the South Harlem debut will take a little longer. We just swung by Lido at No. 2168 in the late afternoon and took a quick photo of the interior and the floors apparently still covered in paper. Not much was going on at around 5:00 PM so there's definitely not a grand opening planned. On a positive note, it looks like the cold recessed lighting of the former establishment has been replaced by some nice chandeliers (hopefully with a dimmer) and the banquet seating along the brick wall ties in the space more along with making it more intimate. Opening dates are hard to pin down so if the new owners are lucky, maybe they can get started by Valentines Day 2011.
