☞ LISTEN: NYC Housing Symphony at Carnegie

February, 21st, 8:00 PM at Carnegie Hall. The New York City Housing Symphony Orchestra, now in its 40th Anniversary Season, celebrates Black History Month at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall next Monday. Also performing will be the big band, The New York Classics. This Gala Benefit concert will feature classical and jazz music by composers of African heritage—Duke Ellington, William Grant Still, Tunde Jegede, Adolphus Hailstork, William Foster McDaniel and Jack Jeffers. Conducting the orchestra will be Kay George Roberts, and Jack Jeffers will be conducting the big band. Eugene Moye, principal cellist of American Symphony Orchestra, will be featured soloist in Jegede’s Lamentation for cello and orchestra.
