We have been posting on Harlem's oldest florists for the past couple of weeks an now the Daily News has done a feature story on the family-owned business:
LINK. Philip Young's modest store called Carolina Flower Shop Too has been around for 70 years and the most notable customer has widely been reported to be Billie Holiday back when their Gardenia's decorated her hair. There's a fourth generation now working at the shop who wants to expand the business but debt has recently shut down their phone services and website. Customers have also been disappearing since modern times have brought about cheap flower options sold on the street or in supermarkets so make it a point to drop by this local florist (ACP/7th and 118th) and help these guys out.
