There were not-so-good signs up at the corner of FDB/8th Avenue and 119th Street earlier on in the week at the proposed site for Cupcake Suite. Construction for the new boutique cupcake purveyors at No. 2211 FDB started last summer but seemed to have gone to a halt by the end of 2010. There were rumors of the business running out of funds based on our past post and it now all seems to be true. Click on the lower image for a large view of the summons which reports that four months back rent is due with interest at this point. We always thought that there were usually rent concessions during the construction phase of a retail space so what happened here? Check out our past post for more details on the cupcake cafe:

The owners are all over the internet pleading for money so I would imagine the landlords are trying to cut their losses as it seems apparent the women had a dream but no practical plan.
