☞ DWELL: 104 Edgecombe Avenue in Contract
It took a year to get into contract but once the price for 104 Edgecombe Avenue was reduced to $675K at the beginning of February, things apparently started move along. The former SRO building at 139th Street had a first asking price of $875K back in April of 2010 but the 17 foot wide, 2,790 square foot, empty legal 4-family building needed a full gut renovation. There's a lot of details in this one which also included several claw foot tubs, a 1940's kitchen and an early century stove in the basement but the poor condition of the house was just as notable. Location wise, the area is purely residential but the subway station is only a short walk away at St. Nicholas Park and 136th Street. A contract went out last week so the final selling price is yet to be determined if all goes through.
