There were a couple of SRO buildings on West 119th Street that went into contract last year and now it appears that both have sold recently. Number 74 and 70 West 119th Street are located just east of Lenox Avenue on a brownstone block that has been seeing its stock restored in the past few years. The 16 foot wide, partially occupied SRO at No. 74 (top photo) went on the market for $850K in July of last year, went into contract by December and now has been listed as sold this month but the closing number has not yet been revealed. A neighboring house at No. 70 was at 17 foot wide, had been on the market since last April and went into contract in November for the asking of $769K. That house just closed for $700K last month even though the Certificate of Non Harassment situation was still questionable.
I heard that #66 and #68 will also be renovated this summer. With Settepani working on their 2nd space at the corner this block will see lots of change. Hopefully the drug dealing and selling crowd on that block will change too.
